MK-Consult Ltd is working with a leading social housing contractor that operate across repairs and maintenance, large refurbishment schemes, and new build projects. We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to lead their HS&E function, ensuring compliance with legislation, including CDM regulations, while promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement HS&E policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
* Provide leadership and technical support to operational teams, embedding a positive safety culture.
* Oversee ISO certification standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001) and regulatory compliance.
* Engage with senior management to drive safety improvements and incident learning.
* Conduct audits, risk assessments, and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
* Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring all reporting and compliance obligations are met.
* Develop and deliver HS&E training, ensuring knowledge and competency across all teams.
* Monitor contractor compliance and implement effective risk management strategies.
* Produce performance reports and insights to improve HS&E management.
* Manage HS&E team members, providing leadership, support, and professional development.
* Develop strategies for future-proofing HS&E practices, ensuring adaptability to changing regulations and industry standards.
* Work closely with senior management and stakeholders to align HS&E strategies with business objectives.
* Upskill and promote teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, with relevant HS&E qualifications.
* Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards it).
* Proven experience in managing HS&E functions in a construction or repairs environment.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
* Experience with ISO standards and compliance frameworks.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture.
