About the role:
One of our key areas of excellence is social work. ARU was ranked as 5th in the UK for social work in the Guardian league table 2024, and at ARU Peterborough we offer programmes including, BA (Hons) Social Work, MA Social Work, and PGCert Practice Educator (Social Work). With continued growth of the department and plans to expand the portfolio of programmes, we are now seeking to appoint two Lecturer Practitioners (full or fractional) to join our social work team.
You will need a Degree and as these are vocational programmes, contemporary experience and CPD evidence of social work practice and current Social Work England registration is required. Backgrounds in all areas of social work will be considered, but to compliment the existing team skillset we would be particularly interested in candidates with experience of statutory adults’ social work, and/or experience of practice education and supporting students on placements or social workers through their ASYE.
These posts are focused on practice and as such, you will not be required to undertake research or have a research background. You are encouraged to consider how you will be able to maintain currency of your practice knowledge and skills in this role and we would welcome discussions about fractional posts for individuals who may want to also hold a concurrent fractional post in social work practice alongside this role.
