Purpose of the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a leading organisation specialising in maritime security, sonar, and combat management systems. This role offers the chance to work within a multidisciplinary team, overseeing the design and development of innovative technical solutions that align with customer requirements and business objectives.
The position covers the entire product lifecycle, including requirements capture, system specification, concept studies, design and development, integration, validation, and qualification.

Key Responsibilities
The System Design Authority will provide technical oversight across all stages of the product lifecycle, working closely with Sales, Project Management, and Engineering teams. Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting customer requirements and specifying system solutions.
- Planning development and testing phases.
- Leading engineering lifecycle reviews.
- Ensuring successful customer acceptance and handover.
- Delivering high-quality Systems Engineering outputs, including:
- Assessing customer requirements against product specifications.
- Defining system architecture and interface requirements.
- Developing test and acceptance strategies.
- Creating engineering work packages and sub-contractor specifications.
- Supporting risk management efforts.
- Leading Factory, Harbour, and Sea Acceptance Test activities.
Competencies and Skills Required
- Experience in technical or engineering roles, with a proven track record in delivering equipment or products into service.
- Strong systems engineering expertise and understanding of the engineering lifecycle.
- Domain knowledge in one or more areas: Sonar, Underwater Acoustics, Maritime Security Systems, Marine Technology, Mine Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Command and Control Systems.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Strong attention to detail, tenacity, and determination.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Information
- Candidates must be eligible to achieve full Security Clearance (SC).
- Willingness to travel internationally for product demonstrations, site surveys, installations, and acceptance testing is required.
