The Opportunity
A rare opportunity to join a leading international Solar Company who are looking to expand their team due to an increase in their portfolio.
The Role
The company has various ground mount solar PV assets under management. You will be required on a daily basis to visit various sites in the portfolio, under the instructions of the O&M Managers/Operators, and report findings, observations, and measurements done on site back to the control room.
You will work closely with backend engineers to execute (i) planned preventative maintenance, (ii) corrective maintenance, and (iii) troubleshooting. Work orders will be assigned via the company’s CMMS system, which will also be used for all formal communications between Field Service Engineers and Control Room.
Occasionally, you may be asked to support the team by identifying local suppliers for various materials and services to conduct corrective maintenance activities.
You will be:
* Responsible for routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems
* Responsible for complying with company procedures
* Responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance according to the PPM annual plan
* Responsible for performing Corrective Maintenance as it occurs
* Reporting activities performed on site upon any site visit and on a daily basis, through the CMMS or manual reports as applicable
* Owning risk assessment, analysis, and operational limitations. Reporting all near misses to the manager
* Responsible for supervision and coordination of third-party contractors carrying out works on site
* Coordinating third-party contractors to comply with H&S Regulations
* Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing suitable for audit
* Fault finding for any system that is not performing correctly
* Alerting the manager of any issues
* Maintaining data security and confidentiality by using information within the parameters of the job role, any applicable SLAs, the company data policies, and statutory guidelines set out within the GDPR and associated UK legislation.
* Complying with all required fire, health, and safety requirements for the environment, including making yourself aware of applicable policies and risk assessments and acting accordingly, and attending any required training.
* Any other reasonable task as requested by a Manager, Partner, or Director of the business.
The Person
Must have:
* 5+ years of SAP-level High Voltage work experience, with at least 5+ in the solar sector
* HV senior authorized up to 33kV at a minimum, with up to 132 kV or 400 kV being of added benefit
* Trained to Nationally Recognised qualifications in HV operational works, either with a DNO or through other routes
* Experience in managing operational staff
* C&G 2330 level 2/3 or equivalent
* C&G BS7671 17th edition
* Full clean driving license
* Willingness to travel flexibly
* Willingness to be available for out-of-hours on-call duties in line with company policy
* Holder of a 5 Day SMSTS or SSSTS
* Holder of an ECS
* Deep knowledge of solar ground systems with string inverters
Desirable:
* Health and Safety Management
