Job Description | Salary £12,45 per Hour | Casual hours per week | Adult Disability Services | International Sponsorship - this role is not open to international sponsorship Community Support Worker Adult Disability Services (Casual) Term: Casual Hours: Variable as required Directorate: Adult Services Health & Wellbeing Location Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Short Break Service (Haddon House) Summary The Adult Services Health & Wellbeing Directorate's Adult Disability Service provides a wide range of flexible support services across all the districts of Lancashire to adults who have disabilities. At Haddon House we are committed to support adults who have a disability to live the lives they want. We aim to achieve this by offering high quality, personalised services that promote independence and opportunities for people to develop and learn. The services range from bespoke individual support in a respite setting by providing short breaks in contemporary modern accommodation. Our services include those registered with the Care Quality Commission and we are an LCC Preferred Provider so that people choosing to access our service can expect a high level of quality. In delivering a quality service to our customers we invest in our workforce by offering both induction and specialist training alongside supervision and team work, this enables staff to support individuals effectively. We are looking for someone who could predominantly work over weekends, however there could be opportunities to work Monday to Friday if required by the service. If successful, you may find opportunities to work across other LCC services. What you need to be able to offer or be willing to learn; You would be expected to work with individuals in a way that reflected a person centred approach and also have the ability to work as part of a team. You would need to be able to communicate with a range of people including people with disabilities, their family members, other staff and professionals and with people in the local community. The role of a support worker includes supporting individuals with all aspects of their personal plan which can include personal care, maintaining health, enabling people to take part in a wide range of social and leisure activities in the local community. The Service we deliver; Short Breaks Offering individuals short breaks within a residential setting, which range from one night up to two weeks. You would be working a range of shifts over a 7 day/24 hour period supporting individuals within the accommodation with a range of household tasks and assisting individuals with their personal care. You would also be involved in supporting people to enjoy leisure and social activities in the local community during their stay. Please be aware we are looking for someone who is willing to work weekends, a mixture of early and late shifts.
