We are looking for a number of committed, enthusiastic teachers with experience of teaching EAP to join our team for the summer Pre-sessional English (PSE) Programme to teach both face-to-face and online from the University of Reading campus. The International Study and Language Institute (ISLI) has been one of the University s fifteen academic Schools since 2013, and it has a longstanding reputation for its expertise in English language teaching and assessment. Our PSE Programme is accredited by BALEAP and takes a genre approach as well as an integrated approach to developing academic language skills. We offer a competitive teacher package: Subsidised accommodation on campus A fully paid three-day induction A comprehensive EAP syllabus with all teaching materials and assessments provided An experienced and supportive team of colleagues in leadership roles and returning teachers You will have: compulsory A first degree or equivalent and Cambridge DELTA or equivalent; OR a postgraduate qualification with a practical teaching component (e.g. PGCE) in EAP, ELT, EFL, ELT, Applied Linguistics or equivalent; OR a postgraduate qualification (e.g. MA) in EAP, EFL, ELT, Applied Linguistics or equivalent plus Cambridge CELTA or equivalent The ability to teach a range of levels (IELTS 4.5-7.0) The ability to teach core EAP skills (incl. implementing a genre informed syllabus) The ability to use a range of online platforms and tools to teach lessons, assess student work and deliver feedback For information on main duties and responsibilities, see Job Description and Person Specification. If teachers join after the payroll deadline, they will be paid in the following month.
