Description About the role: At Next we have a great opportunity for a Chef to join our busy catering team at our Head Office in Leicestershire. The Chef will work in a busy kitchen producing high quality food using fresh produce daily catering for 1200 covers. You will work as part of a team with a brigade of 7 chefs and also under your own initiative. This is a full time position working Monday-Thursday 6:45am - 14:30pm & Friday 6:45am - 14:15pm You will: Ensure that all food is produced within EHO food safety guidelines Ensure the menu is produced to a high standard on time for service. Participate in a positive approach to health & safety. Use stock in rotation; report any quality issues to the Head chef. Maintain cleanliness of your work area & complete cleaning rotas at the end of each shift Be flexible when the kitchen is under increased pressure. Able to work on multi stations on a rota basis. Bring new ideas and passion and creative flair to the food production. Follow all recipes and adhere to allergen control at all times. Keep up to date with changing food trends. Communicate relevant information to colleagues and customers. Communicate easily & appropriately to managers. About you: Hold a recognised catering qualification e.g City & Guilds, NVQ or relevant work experience Hold a food hygiene certificate Proven experience of working in the food industry Minimum of 2 years catering experience Pro-active and self-motivated Ability to use initiative Calm under pressure Excellent organisational and time keeping skills. Ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative as necessary Able to keep accurate records LI-LJ1
