We’re working with a well-established infrastructure consultancy looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their growing team. They’re after someone with a strong consultancy background who can take projects from feasibility through to detailed drainage design. If you’re comfortable with Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and both highway and on-plot drainage design, this could be a great fit.
What’s in it for you?
* A people-first company – this consultancy is employee-owned, meaning everyone has a stake in the business and shares in its success.
* A variety of projects – working with private developers, public bodies, and contractors on drainage design at all stages.
* Hybrid working, compressed hours, and a strong benefits package including private medical insurance, pension contributions up to 6%, and a discretionary bonus.
What They’re Looking For:
* 5+ years’ experience in drainage design within a UK consultancy.
* A solid understanding of SuDS, Section 104/106/185, DMRB, and Sewerage Sector Guidance.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Site 3D, and InfoDrainage (or similar software).
* The ability to manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
* Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
* Chartered status (or working towards it) is a plus, but not essential.
If you’ve also got some highway design experience (S278/S38), vehicle tracking, or ground modelling knowledge, that’s a bonus – but the main focus is drainage.
This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking consultancy where you’ll have real ownership and input into projects.
