Job Description
Through the effective utilisation of structures subject matter knowledge and experience, support the delivery of Technical Services problem resolution service outputs at strategic and tactical levels, to enable the maximisation of operational efficiency and minimisation of costs.
The role holder may be required to carry out additional or alternative tasks from time to time, subject to holding the appropriate qualifications.
Key Responsibility Areas
The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:
* Co-ordinate, develop and produce the technical solutions to enable defects and damage to be rectified to an officially recognised standard.
* Draft, develop and produce applicable airworthiness instructions on behalf of an authorised DE&S Engineering Authority or Mil CAM. Ensure any issues are identified and escalated appropriately.
* Identify trends and make recommendations for amendments to the Operator Maintenance Programme.
* Work with Design Organisations and OEMs, Maintenance Tasking & Verification, Part 145 organisation(s), Reliability & Maintenance Programmes and all other key stakeholders, in order to deliver the required standards of Continuing Airworthiness and contract delivery.
* Review and report on the effectiveness of Technical Enquiry management, including feedback to Design Organisations and Suppliers, across all responsible maintenance locations. Ensure any trends are identified and escalated, as appropriate.
Essential/Desirable skills
* Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant Technical discipline, or Part 66 Category A qualified, or suitable equivalent.
* Recent in-depth experience, to a level appropriate for their role, within a Maintenance & Support environment of a military aircraft, including direct experience of supporting or maintaining fleets of aircraft, including technical management, planning or scheduling.
* Work as an integrated team member, contributing and sharing own experience and knowledge for the wider benefit of the organisation.
* Taking ownership and leadership of specific technical issues through to resolution.
* Ability to translate data into information and establish continuing airworthy cost effective solutions to promote the availability of the UK Typhoon fleet.
* Builds relationships within the business, the customer base and suppliers; works with this group; has excellent communication skills to convey knowledge and own experience, in order to persuade & convince others of actions required to resolve a problem or issue.
* Self-motivated, capable of working within a team environment, or alone when required.
