Job Introduction The role of the Machine Operator is responsible to follow standard operating procedures with materials i.e., (Cartons, and Foil). You will ensure the machine is kept to the highest standard and are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and operating the Machine. You will be responsible for cleaning, checking quality and carrying out changeover of materials, to ensure the Machine works as it should. You may be involved in collecting downtime data, depending on what machine you are running as well as maintaining the quality throughout by checking print and packaging and adhering to safe working practices. The machine operator will form part of the line crew and will adopt Production Operator duties if your machine is not running. The successful candidate will: Have good communication skills to interact with fellow team members and be able to work as part of a team. Reliability is key to this role, excellent attendance and punctuality is a necessity. Ensuring the smooth efficient running of the machines and escalate to Team Leader/Supervisor of equipment failure or issues. Work closely with the Team Leader in terms of compliance to plan and adhering to compliance and quality rules Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance, and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and company regulations is maintained. Wear company uniform as specified and correct PPE as appropriate to task and training Ensure compliance of clean as you go/ good housekeeping Ensure all Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to and carry out safety checks on the Machine. Provide cover in other areas in times of sickness or holidays when requested to do so by Team Leader/Supervisor. This may include working on other shifts to cover the role on occasions. The Ideal Candidate: Will come from a Manufacturing background with previous experience. However, Magna will provide on job training for this role. Someone who can Self motivate. Rights to work in the UK, without any restrictions. What’s on offer: Magna is a 24hr, 7 days a week operation, so work is 12hr days a set 3 days a week, however you will have to be flexible to work every second Sunday Days. The shifts are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and every 2nd Sunday 7.30am to 7.30pm. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every 2nd Sunday 7.30am to 7.30pm. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every 2nd Saturday 7.30pm to 7.30am Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every 2nd Saturday 7.30pm to 7.30am £12.81 per hour for Days and £12.81 13.64% shift allowance for Nights.
