An opportunity has arisen for a Customer Engagement Manager to lead strategic accounts and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Reporting into the Customer Engagement Director, and with the support of a small team, you’ll take ownership of renewing and growing sales for assigned Unipart Rail customers, with clear targets for sales and gross margin aligned to our corporate growth strategy. You’ll lead the delivery of our Customer Engagement System, developing strategic account plans and managing governance processes to ensure exceptional service throughout the contract lifecycle. By building strong, trust-based relationships, you’ll help drive value for customers and align their evolving needs with Unipart Rail’s solutions.
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with regular travel required to meet with customers and support ongoing engagement. Ideally you will be located near to the Doncaster office, however, you could be based near to our Crewe or Southport sites.
Person Specification
We are looking for a dynamic, strategic individual with the ability to interact at senior level, demonstrating a high degree of impact and credibility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and developing relationships across all levels and functions, including working with customers and stakeholders at a strategic level. A strong understanding of core technical information and product knowledge is essential to support customer sales effectively. You will have experience in creating and delivering commercially successful account growth, taking ownership of negotiations and uncovering new opportunities to grow long-term, strategic relationships.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are key, along with the ability to deliver compelling, tailored sales presentations that address specific customer challenges. We're looking for someone with strong strategic and planning skills, underpinned by a proactive, execution-focused mindset. A high standard of ethical conduct in all business dealings is required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and related IT systems. You’ll be a team player, a self-starter who takes initiative, solves problems, and manages time efficiently to meet customer deadlines. While not essential, knowledge of the rail industry and engineering would be a distinct advantage.
