The Role
To work as part of the national sales team, providing specialist support to promote, develop and increase inflows to RIM services from the UK Financial Adviser market. External responsibilities will be mainly face to face involvement in proactive sales to targeted financial advisers within a defined area. Internal responsibilities will be high levels of contact and focus with the regional RIM management and investment teams.
Outcomes of the Role
* Primarily a field based position designed to identify, build and service relationships with the market described above to ensure consistent communications on Rathbone products and services as well as dealing with specific enquiries on both a reactive and proactive basis.
* Develop a consistent flow of quality new business introductions that meet the firms published criteria from UK Financial Advisers (and where appropriate Overseas Advisers).
* Work closely with Investment Manager/s to ensure strong relationships are developed with external advisers in order to optimize potential opportunity.
* Seek opportunities to enhance market share from existing business sources through the promotion of RIM services.
* Implement a robust contact strategy for all introducers to ensure regular structured contact with agreed actions and meaningful outcomes, including F2F meetings with Financial Advisers.
* Gain a comprehensive understanding of the adviser's business model, identify and then deliver any appropriate support.
* Proactively respond to sales leads in a timely manner.
* Build appropriate internal relationships with key personnel in the RIM offices including the investment managers and area heads.
* Assist in the provision of market feedback to the business.
* In all aspects of the role adhere to current regulations and compliance frameworks as well as TCF.
* Plan and organize sales visits, presentations and contact in order to develop relationships and generate sales.
* Maintain and update accurate sales and relationship data on Salesforce CRM system.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Detailed knowledge of the services available to Financial Adviser clients including the eligibility criteria, rate cards, documentation required, together with marketing materials available.
* Maintain an extensive knowledge of investment products, the financial services industry and competitors.
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.
* Understand Rathbones strengths and proposition - be able to articulate them to our customers.
* Be able to build relationships with customers and demonstrate empathy.
* Demonstrate an ability to ask appropriate questions to identify needs and to propose solutions to problems.
* Work under pressure, and multi task with a high degree of flexibility.
* Proactive, entrepreneurial and self reliant.
* Preferably hold any/some/all of IMC, Certificate in discretionary investment, PCIAM, appropriate ESG qualifications and STPS qualifications such as diploma in EIS.
