Clinical Support Worker - Ward 17

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. We are continually upgrading our facilities to provide high-quality care.
We are looking for a permanent Clinical Support Worker who is enthusiastic and motivated to join our team on Ward 17, a respiratory ward with 24 beds for patients with chronic respiratory conditions, including tracheostomy patients and those requiring non-invasive ventilation.
You must be caring, compassionate, reliable, and have a genuine interest in working with a varied group of medical patients.
A flexible approach to hours of work is required, including long days, night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
1. Assisting patients with activities of daily living in accordance with the care plan.
2. Engaging therapeutically with patients and their families.
3. Being part of the wider MDT and contributing to patient care.
4. Assisting in taking and recording patient observations and reporting changes to the nursing staff.
5. Supporting registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Must have completed HCA level 2 training or be willing to undertake it.
* Must have functional maths and English skills at grade 2 or equivalent.
Experience
* Minimum of 6 months experience in a hospital or community setting.
Skills
* Effective communication skills.
* Skills necessary for the safe and effective performance of the job.
