Job summary This is an exiting time We are recruiting for registered mental health nurses to support our clinical teams in the Trust. The post holder will support patients who require specialist mental health input in the clinical areas. The post holder will be essential in promoting parity of esteem between mental and physical health in the general hospital setting and must demonstrate excellent communication skills while providing advice, support, and information to patients with acute mental health needs. The post holder must have excellent nursing and risk assessment skills and a sound knowledge base of the legal frameworks that inform acute mental health care is essential including an understanding of mental health diagnoses and psychosocial interventions. The post holder must be highly motivated and flexible in an ever-changing environment and participate in mental health promotion. Main duties of the job To deliver high-quality, effective, and individualised nursing care that is compassionate, caring, and aligned with evidence-based professional practice. To assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans without supervision. Maintaining a safe environment for patients. Collaborating across the multi-disciplinary team to ensure consistent and personalised care. Contributing to the daily activities and treatment programmes. To undertake mental health risk assessments and reduce vulnerable patients coming to harm. To provide clinical areas with mental health advice, support, and expertise.
