This is your opportunity to join one of the largest providers of Mental Health, Learning Disability, and Neurological Care services in the Country. The Digital Service Infrastructure team is at the forefront of all new technologies, and the Infrastructure Technician role plays an invaluable part in these innovations and ongoing support.
If you have experience in hands-on server and network support or have worked with some of the following key technologies, then we would encourage you to apply:
* Microsoft 365
* Cisco IOS and the associated switching, routing, firewall & wireless products
* VMWare
* IP Telephony
* Cyber Security
Please take the time to tell us about your experiences of working with these technologies and see where your journey with our team takes you…
Please note, this post could be subject to a potential TUPE transfer into NTW Solutions, our wholly owned subsidiary Company. The potential TUPE date is 1st April 2025.
As an Infrastructure Technician, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the support, maintenance, and development of the Trust’s network and telephony infrastructure.
An Infrastructure Technician must be able to maintain and troubleshoot the Digital Services Infrastructure to enable maximum system availability. A key part of the role is to investigate and demonstrate the use of new and emerging technologies which can support and improve ways of working across the organisation.
The post holder will be expected to participate in the Digital Services Out of hours On-Call emergency service.
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented, and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return, we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
There are 13 members of our Infrastructure Team which enables us to offer a very broad range of skills. Although the Person Specification (within the job description) may seem vast, it is important to realise we have specialists in each of the key areas, and it is only when we come together as a team that we are able to encompass everything.
You will soon find that no two days are the same, and the opportunities to learn and develop are always there and very much encouraged.
The Trust works from more than 70 sites across Cumbria, Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside, and Sunderland. We have more than 8,000 people working for us and a budget of over £500 million. All of which means this is definitely not a 9 – 5 desk-based office job.
