Main Duties of the Job
The Community Perinatal Psychiatry Team is part of the Specialist Services Directorate and co-located on the Hopewood site with Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services. We are a Nationally Accredited Service with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. We provide assessment and treatment to women with a range of mental health needs related to the perinatal period. The Team provides a service to the City and County of Nottinghamshire and Bassetlaw with clinics located across this geography.
Our core purpose is to work with expectant mothers and mothers to address their mental health needs and mitigate any impact on the unborn baby and infant. We aim to improve the health outcomes for mothers with the provision of timely, integrated, high-quality, effective, multi-disciplinary interventions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* A postgraduate qualification in a social science
* Evidence of formal training in Research methods and relevant subject areas
* Evidence of continuing professional development in research and related subject areas
* Portfolio of relevant post-qualification CPD including specialist knowledge of professional interventions and evaluations.
Experience
* Experience of paid or voluntary work with children or adults in a health care setting.
* Experience of effective multi-disciplinary/agency working and established interpersonal skills
* Experience of designing and delivering different learning and development opportunities for staff teams.
* Experience in developing evaluation/audit tools and resources as part of profession/multi-professional team
* Experience of managing concurrent demands with minimal supervision
* Experience of undertaking literature reviews
* Experience of writing for publications in peer-reviewed journals and commissioning reports
* Implementation of health research into practice
Knowledge
* Excellent knowledge of research design and methods
* Excellent IT skills and detailed knowledge and experience of using MS Office packages including Excel.
* Design and management of routine clinical data collection, including use of Electronic Patient Record Systems
* Clear understanding of the service evaluation process, health-related approval processes, and relevant evaluation methods
* Basic understanding of perinatal mental health difficulties and attachment literature.

* Language and communication skills relevant to Muslim populations in Nottinghamshire.
