Highlands Surgery is looking to appoint an experienced operations manager to join our management team on a full or part-time basis. The hours are flexible for the right candidate. The main responsibilities of the role include: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the surgery ensuring smooth functioning for both patients and staff. Work closely with senior management to manage the practices priorities. Ensure the practice complies with all healthcare regulations, policies and procedures. Meet the reporting requirements of the partnership and complying with local and national KPIs and contracts. Co-ordinate and lead the operational delivery of the services in the practice, engaging with staff, patients and local commissioners. Attend local meetings, to represent the surgery, and reporting to partners. Identify areas for improvements and implement systems to enhance operational efficiency. Take responsibility for security, repairs, insurance and maintenance of the premises, services and equipment. Handle patient enquiries and suggestions, including oversight of the practice-based complaints procedure in conjunction with the relevant partner. Handle practice publicity and health education materials. Involved in managing the computer system, including organising any maintenance and developments to the system. All applicants should have the following skills and qualifications: Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, as well as experience in managing a diverse workforce. Strong skills and experience in HR, premises management, IT and complaint handling. Prior experience of leadership and personnel management, ideally within a healthcare setting. Self-motivated, with a forward-thinking, solution-focused approach The ability to develop, implement and embed policies, procedures and guidelines. Experience of working in an ever-evolving environment, with an ability to cope with regular change; Excellent organisational, management and planning skills, IT skills and communication skills; Ability to implement and manage change effectively; Ability to identify training and development needs in self and other as well as experience of appraising staff.
