Senior Control Electronics Engineer (Contractor) – EV Drivetrain Inverter
We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Control Electronics Engineer (Contractor) to lead the development and delivery of Control Electronics Hardware for an EV drivetrain inverter. This is a high-impact role within an advanced engineering team, focusing on hardware design, functional safety, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of Control Electronics Hardware for an EV drivetrain inverter, ensuring robust design and compliance with industry standards.
* Review and refine the existing sample design.
* Design and develop Control Electronics Hardware, including:
* Logic board circuits featuring CAN transceivers, System Basis Chips (SBC), microcontrollers, and related components.
* Digital and analog signal conditioning circuits for optimal performance and reliability.
* Power supply circuits (≤ 50W) to meet system requirements.
* Ensure V-cycle development compliance from requirement capture to HW integration testing, delivering hardware solutions that meet ISO 26262 standards.
* Generate and maintain key hardware deliverables, including:
* Hardware requirements definition and documentation.
* Hardware-Software Interface (HSI) specifications for seamless integration.
* Hardware design specifications, ensuring alignment with system architecture.
* Schematic and PCB layout design, optimising performance and manufacturability.
* Test specifications, execution, and reporting, validating design robustness.
* Support for HW design and functional safety analysis, contributing to risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in Control Electronics Hardware design for power electronics applications, ideally in EV drivetrain inverters.
* Strong expertise in microcontroller-based control electronics.
* Deep understanding of digital/analog signal conditioning circuits, CAN communication, and power supply circuits.
* Hands-on experience with PCB schematic capture, layout design, and prototyping.
* Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety requirements for hardware development.
* Proficiency in hardware validation and testing methodologies, including V-cycle processes.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
