Role: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Tamworth
Hours: Full time
Salary: Up to £55,000 (Experience Dependent)
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Registered Manager to lead our client’s new children’s home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Tamworth.

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Compliance:
* Manage the home in compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015), Safeguarding procedures and policies, and OFSTED SCCIF (Social Care Common Inspection Framework)
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring timely reporting and resolution of safeguarding concerns
* Maintain OFSTED readiness at all times, achieving and maintaining a minimum rating of “Good” or “Outstanding”
* Implement and regularly review the home’s Statement of Purpose, ensuring it reflects the high standards of care provided
Care Delivery:
* Provide care and support for children aged 8–17, ensuring their emotional, educational, and social needs are met
* Collaborate with external professionals such as therapists, psychologists, and social workers to develop tailored care plans
* Champion children’s rights and ensure their voice is central to decision-making
Team Development:
* Recruit, train, and develop a motivated and skilled staff team
* Provide ongoing supervision and appraisals, fostering a positive and supportive team culture
* Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring clarity and accountability among team members
Operational and Resource Management:
* Oversee the home’s daily operations, including staff rotas, referrals, and admissions
* Conduct regular audits of health and safety, compliance, and home maintenance, addressing issues promptly
* Manage budgets efficiently, ensuring financial sustainability while meeting the home’s operational needs
* Maintain accurate and professional records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Stakeholder Engagement: • Build strong relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and other professionals
* Ensure timely submission of Reg 44 and Reg 45 reports to relevant authorities and OFSTED
* Represent the home in external meetings, promoting the group’s ethos and achievements
What we would like from you:
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 12 months)
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in children’s residential care, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
* Proven experience achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” OFSTED ratings
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and relevant legislation
Desirable:
* Additional qualifications in therapeutic practices or child psychology
* Experience working with children with EBD
