KONE is looking for a Project Manager to join our Lift installation team in Scotland and North East. As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for project scope, cost, and schedule management, and delivering the project within the defined contractual requirements and KONE objectives. You will be in daily contact with our clients, subcontractors and your KONE colleagues, keeping all parties working together smoothly.
Key accountabilities at the role:
1. Proactively manages customer communication throughout the project, understanding customer needs, objectives and promoting a trustful environment.
2. Manages, leads and encourages the full chain project team to meet customer's expectations. Communicates clearly, transparently and promotes active collaboration and caring of each other to reach mutual success for KONE and the customer.
3. Sets clear targets for the project and plans accordingly. Plans and ensures sufficient project resourcing and competences.
4. Ensures continuous risk and upsides management of the project, with specific focus on risk identification, mitigation, planning, escalation if needed and recovery actions, and on the other hand adding value by promotion of variations selling during the whole life-cycle of the project.
5. Ensures integrated project planning and management with customers and KONE full chain teams.
6. Is responsible for successful project framework implementation meaning project gates and project reviews according to project complexity with special focus on project governance (i.e. steerings).
7. Ensures correct project’s financial planning and forecasting, cash flow management and revenue management.
8. Is responsible for actively driving Sales-to-Operations handover quality, responsible for handover to Customer as well as project closing activities.
9. Maintains safety awareness amongst employees and subcontractors leading by own example. Is aware of safety customer requirements and KONE Safety workplace requirements.
10. Plans Installation and tester resources together with relevant resource manager.
11. Promotes the usage of lean practices at work.
What will help you to succeed in this role?
1. Strong project management skills and previous experience as a Project Manager.
2. You have preferably worked in the lift industry before. Project Management experience in engineering or construction industry would be considered as well.
3. Demonstrated experience within a commercial environment, managing projects at a site level.
4. Customer relationship management.
5. Project financial management e.g. controlling costs.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
7. Planning and analytical skills.
8. Strong organisation skills.
