The Trust Doctor posts are at the equivalent to Core Surgical Trainee level and will all work under the supervision of a surgeon or group of surgeons in a defined clinical area in a surgical specialty during the normal working day and with emergency surgeons during admission shifts.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to support the Urology service, and develop core surgical and urological skills with a view to furthering a career in surgery or urology. They will support the FY1 tier and also participate in a dedicated urology on call rota. The post holder will also be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to participate in audit and clinical governance activities.
1. In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in Urology with responsibility for core urology services.
2. In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to play a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department.
3. In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take part in medical audit and research as appropriate.
4. In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
5. To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
