Major Recruitment are looking to hire a Shop Floor Fabricator / Plater for our well established client based in Burton On Trent. Area of Responsibility: As a Shop Floor Fabricator / Plater, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling mild and stainless steel structures, primarily focusing on steel plate fabrications (mainly 8mm). You will work on the shop floor, interpreting technical drawings and working independently to ensure high-quality standards are met. Key Duties: Fabrication Duties: Fabricate and assemble steel structures using mild and stainless steel. Work primarily with steel plates, focusing on 8mm thickness. Use various fabrication tools and equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components. Ensure all fabrications meet quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with team members to optimize fabrication processes. Plating Duties: Prepare surfaces for plating, including cleaning and degreasing. Apply plating techniques to coat metal surfaces as required. Inspect plated components for defects and ensure adherence to quality standards. Maintain plating equipment and ensure a safe working environment. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication and plating. Expertise in working with mild and stainless steel structures. Proficient in steel plate fabrications, primarily 8mm. A time-served apprenticeship is an advantage. Strong ability to interpret drawings and work independently. Excellent spoken and written command of English. Working Hours Salary Monday to Friday schedule with flexible working hours.
