As Area Operations Manager – East, you will be responsible for the performance of five of our Depots: Coventry, Nottingham, Normanton, Sheffield and Peterborough. Is this job perfect for you? If you like what you hear, then we'd love you to apply Your Purpose Reporting to the Area Manager, the purpose of this role is to be accountable for the day-to-day management and leadership of cost, service, and quality Compliance management of Depot Operations in several key sites in and around a designated area. This role will deputise for the Area manager, so it is essential you have strong leadership skills and can make decisions on their behalf. With responsibility for the Cost, Quality, and service of the operation, whilst providing clear and direct leadership to the Depot Quality Managers and shift managers in your area. You will be a role model of behaviours and lead our health and safety message whilst in depots. Responsibilities : To support the Area Managers in delivering strategic improvements and deliverables for the growth of the business Leadership of Health and Safety by creating a culture to support Go Home Safe Deputise for the AM when they are not available and be the point of contact and have accountability for the area during that time. Responsible for working in tandem with your depot general managers to ensure the Watchtower KPI performance actions are in place and working with your teams to evidence plans for improvement to your Area Manager and Head of Depot each week. You will need excellent people engagement and mentoring skills to gain trust and ability to affect change within organisations and engage business departments to deliver success with pace to implement solutions with speed and stability, whilst being able to assess the success and performance of operational changes through management information. To work across shifts/days, as well and team structures, to assess performance and provide analysis of corrective measure. To drive talent in your teams so you have a clear succession plan and talent pool. Accountable for development of your teams to ensure they are engaged and working to their full potential. Skills and Quals : CPC holder desirable An understanding of H&S legislation, ideally NEBOSH certified but not essential Problem solving and planning effective contingencies and solutions. Well organised and able to prioritise workload for self and others. Ability to evidence a track record of identifying opportunities for efficiency and performance improvement in depots.
