William Lamb Group Ltd is one of the biggest suppliers of footwear & bags in the UK. It is a family-owned business established in 1887, based in Wakefield West Yorkshire, and we are now recruiting for a Shipping Assistant.
We are seeking a Shipping Assistant to join our dynamic supply chain team - this role will assist the Shipping Department with coordination of shipments ensuring the timely arrival of goods to meet customer delivery dates and efficient shipment methods.
The role will also assist the Distribution Department ensuring that products are booked and delivered to customers within required timescales and by cost-effective transport with the aim of always maintaining a high level of customer service.
Duties
Scheduling Shipments
1. Communicating with overseas offices/agents or factories to ensure goods are shipped to factory Purchase Order dates.
2. Ensuring any variation from P/O dates are negotiated with overseas offices/agents or factories & where this will affect customer order delivery dates, discuss and agree course of action with UK Merchandise team.
3. Liaising with overseas offices/agents or factories to obtain all necessary documentation & ensure all information is provided to relevant parties within required timelines.
4. Ensuring efficient loadings of containers, negotiating where required to meet company requirements.
5. Preparation of shipping invoices for FOB supplies.
6. Collection and collation of key information in relation to handover of FOB supplies.
7. Downloading P/O data from ABMS and ensuring that all factory shipments are updated on WLG IT systems.
8. Checking and preparing payments to suppliers and freight forwarders.
Scheduling Customer Deliveries
1. Creating and booking Goods Received Notes onto the system and dealing with any queries.
2. Invoicing of goods.
3. Processing and invoicing of dropship customer dispatches and updating the relevant documents.
4. Reconciliation of customer credit notes and subsequent raising and issuing to customer.
5. Raising proforma invoices for trade customers and liaison with customer.
6. Assisting with year-end stock take in reconciling our in-house system to physical stocks.
7. Actioning sample requests from stocks.
Skills
* A strong working knowledge of Excel.
* A good working understanding of Word and Outlook.
* Great communicator.
Qualifications
* 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English level C or above or equivalent.
This role is full-time, but part-time/school hours would be considered if necessary. Full-time working hours are: 8am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-3:30pm Fri.
