Our client is a leading manufacturer of flat roofing/water proofing solutions into the specification and contractor market, looking to recruit a Regional Sales Manager to cover the North. This role involves leading and developing a team of 6 field-based sales staff, with responsibilities split 50% between management and 50% front-line sales. A real player/manager is required, with excellent backing and support, great staff retention, and a strong brand name.
The Role:
1. You and your team will sell the company's manufactured range of flat roofing/water proofing solutions.
2. Field/home-based position covering Northern England, specifically from Lancashire to North Wales.
3. Selling into Specifiers, Contractors, and specialist sub-contractors/roofing contractors.
4. Focus on new business/specification sales, with some account management responsibilities.
5. Manage and develop the team, while also engaging in front-line sales.
6. Follow up on KPIs, team development, training, and dual calls.
7. Handle recruitment, appraisals, and dismissals as part of your role.
8. Leads provided with an excellent database, but you will also be expected to leverage your own contacts and experience.
9. Host CPD seminars and train your team on CPD delivery.
10. Write detailed specification reports.
11. Assist with project management, tracking project processes, and resolving any issues your team may encounter.
The Person:
1. Strong field sales manager, happy to be 50% management and 50% front-line sales focused.
2. Specification sales experience is essential, ideally within flat roofing or a technical construction-related product/building envelope.
3. Must be based within the specified patch (Lancashire to North Wales).
4. Experience in writing detailed specification reports.
5. Strong presenter, comfortable holding CPD seminars and training others.
6. A people-oriented individual with strong IT skills.
