Project Engineer
Our client, a leading supplier of oil and gas, and renewable energy equipment and solutions, is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to join their well-established team based in the Norwich office.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This opportunity will be completed full-time in the Norwich office.
Applicants must be willing to travel to different UK sites and offshore. Travel will be paid at enhanced rates.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide drive and energy for the completion of all allocated projects.
* Ownership of the project from handover until completion, recording and resolving actions via the action tracker.
* Act as the project focal point, liaising with customers and all internal departments, dealing with both the commercial and technical aspects of project delivery.
* Identify risks such as commercial, contractual, design, and schedule.
* Assess risks and minimize the impact on the business, highlighting issues to senior staff.
* Define, manage, and drive the project delivery schedule, identifying critical path items and capturing all QA/QC elements.
* Ensure the company’s financial management systems are current and reflect actual progress and forecast costs at an individual project level.
* Highlight significant forecast variations at the earliest opportunity.
* Understand the scope of the project(s), linking all parts of the company to track progress and ensure the project is on track.
* Prepare project user requirements, documentation, and manuals by engaging with customers and finalizing sales (purchase orders) against an agreed specification.
* Ownership of ordering material/services in good time to meet project requirements and raise material enquiries and purchase requisitions.
* At delivery/execution/commissioning of the project, ensure all processes have been followed, project controls met, and deliverables are fit for purpose.
* Lead Project Kick Off meetings with the design team and actively participate in Design reviews.
* Own and present to Directors reviews on Project Progress and instigate HAZID and HAZOP meetings as necessary.
This role requires the unfettered right to work in the UK.
ABOUT YOU:
* Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with proven success.
* Experience of successful client-facing interactions.
* Financial forecasting in a project environment.
* Highly organized and accurate.
