Pay Rate: £12.80 PAYE / £15.55 Umbrella

Are you passionate about conservation and the environment? Conwy County Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Country Park Warden to join our team at the Great Orme Country Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the management and conservation of one of Wales’ most significant natural and archaeological sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and conservation of the Great Orme Country Park and Local Nature Reserve.
Undertake biodiversity conservation work and general warden duties, including litter collection, site management, and law enforcement.
Maintain the Country Park Visitor Centre and the surrounding Wildlife Garden.
Lead guided walks and educational services for the public and school groups.
Supervise student wardens, work placements, and volunteer groups.
Conduct safety audits, surveys, and monitoring work.
Handle cash transactions and manage stock for the Wildlife Gift Shop.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
A further education qualification in an environmental discipline.
Experience in countryside management, including conservation, estate management, and environmental education.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
First Aid qualification.
Ability to manage and supervise staff and volunteers.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of the National Curriculum and its links to site management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, GIS mapping, and data management.
Ability to communicate in Welsh.
