Main duties of the job
* To ensure effective and efficient operational management of the mental health liaison team within Tameside.
* To undertake overall responsibility for the clinical and professional leadership of mental health liaison services within the division, ensuring services are delivered to a high quality and person-centered in their approach.
* Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of mental health liaison services within the division and maintain compliance with Key Performance Indicators and outcomes.
* To support the team to meet all key performance indicators.
* To ensure the service is shaped through lived and living experience collaboration and engagement.
* Contribute to the Bronze Senior Manager on Call rota for Mental Health.

Person specification
Education / Qualifications
* Professional qualification in health or social care with required registration.
* Education to degree level in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
* Qualification in management or leadership.
Experience
* Clinical experience within related services.
* Substantial experience of operational management within mental health services in any specialism.
* Experience of working to objectives and meeting deadlines, within a performance management framework.
* Experience of service improvement and development.
* Experience of joint collaborative working across organisational boundaries.
* Extensive experience of managing services at a senior level.
Knowledge
* Good working knowledge of wider health and social care system and structures, policies, procedures and legislation relevant to services areas.
* Knowledge of management tools, organisational systems and processes relevant to managing in an NHS organisation.
* Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and national drivers underpinning services for people with mental health problems.
* Knowledge of the current urgent care agenda.
* Display a good understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement.

Work Related Circumstances
* Must be flexible and able to work within a 7-day service and up to 8pm including bank holidays.
* Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
