Responsibilities
In general, the role will support the operation of existing generating assets and the development of new projects for both tidal and battery energy storage systems. Core responsibilities will encompass support of other business activities as required and resources permit.
1. Environment management to ensure compliance with existing consent conditions.
2. Undertake the role and responsibilities of the Project's Environmental Clark of Work and to act as Point of Contact with the Marine Directorate.
3. Review, audit and generation of project documents prescribes in Section 36 and Marine Licence consent conditions.
4. Hold and maintain project Consent registers for all projects as appropriate to their stage of development.
5. Support development activities in the submission of consent applications for BESS projects in England, Scotland and Wales and expansion of the Tidal Array projects.
6. Support the management of Health, Safety & Environmental risks across all operating locations.
7. Develop collaborative working relationships and information exchange with relevant stakeholders to support continued improvement of environmental risks and impacts posed by project activities.
8. Attendance of marine works aboard Offshore Construction Vessels for the installation and recovery of tidal turbines as Environmental Clark of Work in support of the O&M Manager.
9. Support of project development across the portfolio, including Tidal Stream and BESS.
Requirements
1. Education to degree level in a relevant discipline; a second degree and/or practical experience would be advantageous.
2. Knowledge of consent processes and legislation relevant to project activities in the UK; BESS & Tidal Array.
3. Familiarity with statutory reports for Section 36 and Marine Licences.
4. A desire to deliver a renewable and sustainable energy industry considerate of environmental impact and stakeholder engagement.
5. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team consisting of employees and contractors.
6. Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
7. An attention to detail and proficiency in writing procedures and quality documentation.
8. Proactive approach to working and learning.
9. Willingness to work within a dynamic working environment, responding to changing immediate demands to deliver project objectives.
10. Take the initiative, make sound decisions, and bring action.
11. Enjoys working under pressure to meet deadlines.
