Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Driver Team Leader based in Corby, UK. Reporting to the Transport Manager, the main purpose of this role is to support the daytime weekend running of the Distribution and Weighbridge functions; it will include tanker driving and delivery duties at other times.
The role will comprise of an average 48-hour week working a static Friday to Monday 4 on 3 off shift pattern. The role involves driving every Monday and Friday with office cover every Saturday and Sunday.
At weekends, this would include good implementation of the transport plan, making adjustments to the plan when required, and communicating any changes effectively to ensure good customer service.
At other times, this would be to drive and operate an LGV vehicle in accordance with Dept of Transport regulations, EU drivers hours rules, other statutory regulations, and company safety and health requirements.
Your Responsibilities
* To undertake and promote Safety & Health requirements in accordance with company and site procedures
* Handle out of hours calls effectively
* Monitor customer telemetry & maintain regular customer dialogue to maximise customer service
* Liaise with other departments to ensure that the distribution function operates in alignment at all times.
* Tanker loading for contractors and pre-load tanks for ADM deliveries as required
* Accurate operation of the weighbridge
* Conduct daily de-briefs with drivers at weekends
* Monitor legal compliance in respect of driver’s hours and tachograph records.
* Carry out distribution-related administration to company requirements.
* Drive and operate the LGV vehicle in accordance with legislation including essential daily vehicle safety checks.
Your Profile
* A valid LGV C & E licence
* Driver Qualification Card (DQ Card / Driver CPC)
* Comprehensive knowledge of road transport legislation (EU driver’s hours, RTD, Highway Code etc.)
* Ability to route plan and schedule
* Knowledge of bulk flour discharge
* Good communication skills
* Good problem solving skills
* Experience in Customer relations
* Knowledge of flour products and food hygiene
