Job summary The Neurophysiology Department is sited within the Neuroscience group and provides a comprehensive range of secondary care services from Grimsby, Goole, Scunthorpe and now with the inclusion of East Riding of Yorkshire, ensuring that the services are structured to meet the needs of service users also where agreed to the wider health community. The post holder will provide a highly specialised service in the Neurophysiology department undertaking and reporting on a wide range of diagnostics studies and procedures. They will undertake and perform diagnostic examinations to a high level of skill underpinned by specialist knowledge and practical experience.In house training will be given to the post-holder where necessary. CPD and role expansion will be actively encouraged. Supporting training and developing staff are also key areas of responsibility. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide a highly specialised service in the Neurophysiology department undertaking and reporting on a wide range of diagnostics studies and procedures. They will undertake and perform diagnostic examinations to a high level of skill underpinned by specialist knowledge and practical experience. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Neurophysiology service in the absence of the Head of Department in conjunction with other specialised and trainee Clinical Physiologists. Provide highly complex, specialist Clinical Neurophysiology service(s) to patients of all ages from a range of specialties suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders including those which may be neurological and/ or psychiatric in nature.
