As a production operator you will work as part of a team responsible for the operation of our speciality production lines at optimum output and efficiencies with minimum downtime, whilst ensuring you comply with all safe systems of work and product is manufactured to meet quality standards and production schedules. Key Responsibilities Undertake all your work safely and in compliance with Plant rules, the Site Safety Policy and participate in safety training programmes and safety audits Operate equipment in accordance with the Standard Operating Conditions and procedures to meet production targets Monitoring of operating parameters and equipment on the production line and taking appropriate actions to resolve deviations and process interruptions Coordinate product grade changes to minimize downtime and ensure accurate completion of grade change checklists Visual inspection and assessment of finished product and recording of results in the plant quality system Maintain good housekeeping standards by keeping work areas and equipment clean and in good order Provide effective handover to oncoming shift, detailing outstanding issues and forward plan Qualifications and Skills Required Health & Safety awareness and experience SVQ Level 2 or equivalent SCQF Level 5 qualifications in 4 relevant subjects or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in chemical manufacturing Technical aptitude to set up process equipment and resolve process problems Familiarity in use of computers and Microsoft applications Good analytical skills Ability to plan and prioritise workloads in line with Key Performance Indicators Experience in manufacturing and an awareness of quality and hygiene systems would be an advantage Ability to work independently and as part of a team Have a high attention to detail and a knowledge of operational standards Comprehensive training & development will be given to the successful candidates. This role comes with a competitive remuneration package dependent on skills and experience including optional company pension, health, dental and vision cover. This is a full time, permanent position working the equivalent of 37.5 hours per week on a fully rostered 5 crew shift pattern which includes 12-hour day shifts, night shifts and weekend working.
