NRL’s client, a leading sustainable construction company, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Golborne. This role offers a chance to be at the forefront of impactful infrastructure projects, focusing on high-pressure steel pipelines for National Grid and similar major utilities. If you have a background in civils or utilities estimating and a solid understanding of complex engineering processes, this is an excellent opportunity for you to step into a high-visibility role with room for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Management: Oversee the tendering process from start to finish, ensuring accurate pricing and thorough, commercially sound tender submissions.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with various teams to support smooth transition from tender phase to project execution, focusing on high-pressure gas and utilities.
Client and Team Collaboration: Build and maintain strong client relationships while working closely with project and construction managers, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience in Civils or Utilities Estimating: Preferably with high-pressure steel pipelines or within the gas sector.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to read design drawings, interpret specifications, and prepare Bills of Quantities with strong familiarity in NEC contracts.
Engineering Insight: Hands-on knowledge of heavy engineering, including welding high-grade steel pipes, trench-digging, and groundworks for large-diameter pipe laying.
Additional Traits and Requirements:
Problem-Solving Mindset: Adaptable and technically skilled, able to navigate the specific requirements of high-pressure utilities projects.
Office & Site Involvement: Primarily based in the office with at least 3 days on-site in Golborne; occasional site visits as required.
Utility Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with related sectors, such as waterworks, is advantageous, especially for those in junior roles looking to step up.
