Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The post holder will participate in the routine scientific and administrative work undertaken by Radiotherapy Physics. This will involve radiotherapy treatment planning, brachytherapy, and dosimetry. In all these duties, the post-holder will undertake and take responsibility for operator duties (under IRMER (2024)) which he/she is trained for and authorised to carry out. A high standard of health and safety must be maintained in accordance with the health and safety policy of the department/hospital. The department seeks to provide a high quality service to patients and other departments.
If the post holder is not on the HCPC register of clinical scientist on appointment they will be paid according to Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions - i.e. at 75% of the top of Band 7 until HCPC registration is obtained.
