An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, enthusiastic Faculty Lead Religious Education to join our innovative Humanities Faculty within our ambitious school. We are looking for the right candidate to join us as soon as possible. Interviews will be held on Friday 21st February 2025.
Religious Education sits at the heart of our School and is a key element of pupil experience here. The Religious Education curriculum is supported by acts of collective worship, PSHCE, and close links to the Chaplaincy and the Church of England curriculum. We expect all colleagues to support the Christian ethos of our School, expressed through our aspiration for all to "let your light shine".
The successful candidate will be responsible for areas such as teaching and learning, vision for the department, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, behaviour for learning, the learning environment, performance management, addressing under-achievement, and reporting to the senior team on the progress of the faculty.
You will be involved in developing a creative and inspiring curriculum closely aligned to the overarching Church of England curriculum and will be part of our collaborative approach to planning.
The successful candidate will be:

* Capable of inspiring and motivating others
* Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and resilient
* Able to motivate staff to deliver an inspiring and engaging Religious Education curriculum
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
* Experience of teaching Religious Education in a secondary school environment
* Proven leadership skills and ability to introduce a process of change
* An ability to deliver an impactful and creative Religious Education curriculum closely aligned to the overarching Church of England curriculum
* A full understanding of the SIAMS framework and ability to work with the Principal to ensure the school's Christian vision meets the evaluation framework
* A proven track record of raising attainment across all key stages
* Knowledge of current education developments within the area of Religious Education
* An ability to inspire and motivate students so that they enjoy Religious Education and are successful in the subject
* Play a leading role in expanding our extra-curricular programme
