As a Health Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist, you will lead and supervise the day-to-day delivery of a diagnostic service in Clinical Biochemistry, which includes the Automation section (2 x Cobas 8000 and P612), Immunology (Phadia 250), HbA1c's (TOSOH G11), EQA section, and Osmo1. You will work closely with senior staff in Haematology, Blood Bank, and specimen reception to ensure the smooth running of the blood sciences service.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing advanced Biomedical Science technical support within a section by offering training, advice, technical development, troubleshooting, and supervision.
2. Supervising and coordinating validation and verification as required.
3. Overseeing stock control and ordering of reagents and consumables in all sections of Clinical Biochemistry.
4. Overseeing training for BMS and all grades of support staff, updating training documents, and ensuring training is undertaken according to the training policy and training programmes of the department to maintain IBMS training approval and UKAS standards.
