Infection Prevention & Control Lead Nurse | Oaklands Hospital | Part Time Hours Per Week
Oaklands Hospital are recruiting for an Infection Prevention & Control Lead Nurse to join the team on a part time contract.
The successful candidate will be expected
1. To carry out the necessary surveillance to identify and monitor infections within the hospital
2. To provide advice on Infection Prevention and Control issues and to contribute in the interpretation and development of local procedures based on group policy for the prevention and control of infection.
3. To undertake training and education on Infection Prevention and Control issues.
4. To attend and provide reports for Infection Control and Clinical Governance Committees.
5. To carry out environmental audits for infection prevention and control throughout the hospital, ensuring that action plans are developed and instigated
6. Liaise closely with all heads of department on Infection Prevention and Control issues
7. To help create and maintain an environment that will ensure the safety of the patient/client, his or her relatives, visitors and Health Care Workers using infection prevention and control knowledge, communication skills, nursing and teaching skills and attitudes appropriate to each situation
8. To co-ordinate all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control issues within the hospital on behalf of the Hospital Director
What you'll bring with you
9. Current NMC registration
10. At least 30 credits at level 5 or 6 in modules relevant to Infection Prevention and Control Practice or recognised Infection Prevention and Control qualification/willingness to undertake - essential
11. A teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent - desirable
12. A warm, considerate and empathetic character
13. A commitment to support patients and the team
14. The ability to make decisions and use your own initiative
15. Strong communication skills
