Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Governance, Risk, Policy, and Process Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of governance frameworks, risk management policies, and procurement processes. Reporting to the Head of Governance, Compliance and Risk, this role includes ensuring compliance, minimising risk, and enhancing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, risk assessment, and policy creation, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulations and organisational policies. Lead risk assessments to monitor and manage risks, collaborating with key stakeholders to develop mitigation plans and establish control measures.
2. Support accurate, relevant content on the Procurement homepage, SharePoint, and external Supplier site. Conduct periodic policy reviews and updates, ensuring they remain relevant and effective. Maintain updated procurement processes to ensure they are efficient, effective, and compliant with organisation standards. Conduct regular process audits and reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance workflow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of processes across departments.
3. Develop training materials and deliver training sessions on governance, risk, and compliance topics. Foster a culture of compliance and governance throughout the team by promoting awareness of key policies and processes. Identify opportunities for improvements, implementing best practices that enhance efficiency and reduce risks. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes and update frameworks, policies, and processes as required.
4. Lead procurement ESG strategy- integrating sustainability, ethical practices, and corporate responsibility into governance and risk management frameworks. Ensure adherence to relevant policies, regulations/industry standards, and ESG reporting requirements and conduct regular audits/ assessments to ensure ongoing compliance. Manage data accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and global standards. Engage with cross-functional teams to establish and track ESG goals and metrics.
5. Track performance metrics and share reporting insights for management on governance, risk, and policy adherence. Ensure internal and external audits are supported effectively, responding to findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
6. Ensure consistent application of procurement policies and processes for best-in-class practices. Maintain accurate, relevant content on the Procurement homepage, SharePoint, and external Supplier site. Ensure compliance with Group information security policies.
7. Deliver policy workshops, provide training, and develop documentation to ensure clear understanding and adherence to processes. Manage rollout of new policies, track compliance, and report on adherence to identify trends, risks, and improvement areas. Monitor developments to keep policies current and aligned with business and regulatory needs.
Education & Experience:
1. Candidates should be educated to degree level or possess equivalent professional experience and qualifications in Procurement, risk management, or a related field relevant to the role (certifications in risk management or compliance preferred).
2. Proven experience in procurement, governance, risk management, policy development.
3. Experience in designing and implementing governance frameworks, policies, and risk management processes.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and P2P systems is required. While not essential, an MCIPS qualification would be an asset.
Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
2. Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to analyse complex information, interpret data to generate insights and provide clear summaries or recommendations. Experienced in conducting risk assessments and implementing effective controls.
3. Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
4. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders across departments.
