Position Description
Position Summary
This is an ‘on-call’ position that will assist Messiah Grounds and Maintenance staff with snow removal on campus during the Spring Semester. Students will be assigned to a Winter Snow Crew. Each crew will be comprised of Messiah Grounds and Maintenance staff and five students. Students will be assigned to a 2-hour shift when called in. Days and hours will vary and be dependent on weather conditions and need. The Crew Supervisor will contact all crew members when snow clearing is necessary. Student shifts will start at 7:30 a.m. or later, pending need.

* Able to tolerate cold winter conditions for an extended period of time.

Dress Code Requirements
Winter attire is required: Coat, boots, pants, gloves, etc. Students are expected to have and wear proper winter gear for cold snow conditions.
Special Working Conditions
* This position requires working outside in cold winter conditions.
* Must be able to work a 2-hour shift.
* Must be available to report to work when contacted – this is an ‘on-call’ position.
* Must possess full range of physical motion.
* Must be able to handle heavy physical exertion – lifting and moving snow.
Primary Duties
1. Snow removal from walkways, stairs and access areas on campus.
2. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
