The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.
We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. About the Opportunity
This role is an exciting opportunity to join Soil Association and use your communication skills to raise awareness of the vital work happening across our food and farming programme teams. As part of the highly skilled comms team you will work on key projects, delivering communication outputs to both support the projects grow awareness and reach to key audiences that participate and benefit from them, and to reference the projects as part of our voice as Soil Association in advocating for change. Projects will span our work across farming and food, from Ai4SoilHealth, a European Funded project that communicates through a broad range of channels to reach, engage and influence farmers, land managers, policy makers and scientists across Europe, to Food For Life which works with UK caterers, local authorities, schools and early years settings to create the standards and conditions to deliver over 1 million healthy and sustainable meals every day.
About You
- You are a quick starter who is confident to join the team, pick up tasks, ask clarifying questions and deliver comms outputs in a timely and accurate manner
- You will be experienced at picking up new subject matter and turning it in to clear and compelling comms outputs
- You will be willing to work on assigned tasks independently or as part of the team
- You enjoy a broad range of comms activities, from creating and delivering social media posts, to website news and blog content, promoting events, conducting interviews to collect case studies and pulling together content for email newsletters

28 hours per week (Mon-Thurs)
