We are proud to be working with a leading Facilities Management business that specializes in Fire and Electrical related compliance solutions for businesses UK wide, as they look to recruit an experienced national BDM with immediate effect. This business has some impressive unique selling points. They are the biggest independent maintenance company specializing in their area of expertise within FM.
They have strong working relationships with elite level football clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC, and have supplied maintenance services to notable venues like the New Wembley Stadium and the Olympic Stadium. Their client base includes a strong mix of FM businesses such as CBRE, Mitie, and Engie, as well as end users in property and accommodation, parliament, education, councils, leisure, and hospitality.
This role is replacing a long-standing team member who is moving internally into a new role, and therefore you will inherit a pipeline of opportunities. The ideal candidate needs to be a new business hunter, not a farmer – you will be expected to generate your own pipeline from scratch as well as develop what is already there.
You need to be capable of new business winning and some existing relationship nurturing. It is essential to have a strong, stable track record of results in B2B service-based solution selling, ideally from the world of Facilities Management, whether hard or soft FM. You will be capable of absorbing technical information and asking technical questions while ultimately being a sales person.
Full training will be provided on the services, which are maintenance-based services associated with fire health and safety and compliance. You do not need to come from the direct competition, but experience from an allied industry would be desirable. Key decision-makers you will sell to typically include estates managers, FM managers and directors, procurement departments, health and safety departments, and building management.
You will demonstrate how you have succeeded in your sales career and come with fresh ideas on new markets to potentially break into. Our client has customers that have been with them since inception over 10 years ago, and they regularly win work through recommendations and referrals due to their strong service delivery track record. This role will ensure the business continues to grow, and due to further investment from the FM parent company, there are likely to be real development opportunities over time for the right person.
You will have strong support from customer service, technical, and internal sales teams, but you will relish being the true sales spearhead for the business. You can expect a base salary of 40-50k plus a car package and an uncapped OTE that can see you earn significantly more than just the base package. Ideal candidates will be within an hour’s commute of the Manchester office for initial training, but for the right person, our client will consider anyone based across the UK as this is a field-based role with real autonomy.
