2316 - Musculo-skeletal Specialist Physiotherapist

This post is 30 hours a week permanent.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Working in a small and friendly team, the post holder will provide specialist physiotherapy for the treatment of Musculoskeletal and Rheumatology conditions at Barnsley Hospital.
Carrying out specialist assessments, treatments, and providing expert advice for patients with complex conditions. As an acute trust, we manage referrals from A&E, the fracture clinic, and orthopaedic teams, treating a diverse range of acute and post-operative patients from both our trauma and elective units.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To perform specialist physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations/multiple pathology and complex physical and psychological conditions.
2. To display specialist problem-solving skills to recognize and identify patients requiring further investigation, referring appropriately to other medical services within and outside the physiotherapy remit.
3. To hold responsibility for own caseload and to be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
4. To formulate and deliver individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
5. To be an active member of the respiratory and orthopaedic on-call rota.
6. To be responsible for the clinical education of undergraduate student physiotherapists to graduate level on physiotherapeutic skills and knowledge within core areas.

Experience
* Significant post-graduate clinical experience, with experience in musculo-skeletal/orthopaedics, medical/surgical/ITU and neurology.
* Experience of Evidence Based Practice and Risk Assessment.
* Experience of audit/research.
* Experience in the NHS in the UK as a qualified physiotherapist.
* Member of a specialist interest group.
* MCSP.
* Experience of supervision of assistants.
Knowledge and Awareness
* Awareness of NHS issues.
* Awareness of confidentiality issues.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
* Current HCPC Registration.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and training in the relevant area.
