BSL Trained Teaching Assistant - Secondary School
Salary: £110 - £130 per day
Contract Type: Temporary to Long-Term Opportunity
A highly supportive and inclusive secondary school is seeking a BSL Level 2 or Level 3 trained Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support to children and young people with hearing impairments and moderate learning disabilities, including autism. This role will involve both group and one-to-one support, with a strong emphasis on British Sign Language (BSL) communication.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and caring individual to make a meaningful impact, initially on a day-to-day supply basis, with the potential for a long-term position.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with hearing impairments and additional learning needs.
- Use BSL Level 2 or Level 3 to communicate effectively with students and support their learning.
- Work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to implement tailored learning strategies.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, ensuring students feel supported and valued.
- Assist with students' social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.
- A qualified Teaching Assistant with BSL Level 2 or above.
- A compassionate and patient individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Experienced in working with students with hearing impairments and other SEN requirements.
