Applications are invited for a Health Data Scientist to work with a team working with Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh on a research programme that involves research using large cohort electronic health data with a focus on evaluating the impact of health policy interventions (e.g. introduction of RSV programme, clean air zones, abolition of winter fuel subsidies to pensioners) across the UK, using natural experiment designs.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop and carry out their own aspect of work, using large cohort electronic health data which contributes significantly to work of the HDRUK funded Driver Program for Inflammation and Immunity.

2. Analysis of multiple linked datasets to understand and provide expert advice and guidance on the impact of health policy interventions on respiratory health.
You will hold a PhD (or near completion) in epidemiology or statistics involving the use of electronic healthcare record data or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience. You will have demonstrable experience in writing queries to transfer, transform and interrogate data from large databases and accompanying statistical analysis packages (e.g. R, SQL).
You will be based in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but there may be the opportunity for occasional remote working as agreed with your line manager.
