Support Worker
£12.00 per hour - 30-35 hours per week
Please note this role requires a driver who holds a full clean UK driving licence to drive the service user’s vehicle.
We are looking for people to join our friendly and welcoming team in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire where you will have the opportunity to enhance people’s lives. We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centred services providing a range of individualised support to people living in a Supported living service.
About the role
You will be supporting individuals with physical and learning disabilities within their own homes and out in the community. The role will involve support with:
* personal care
* moving and handling
* day-to-day tasks, such as: cooking, cleaning, shopping
* attending health appointments
* budgeting and managing their finances
* trips to visit friends and families
You will also support with activities within their local community and must be happy to walk in all weathers and enjoy swimming, as several of the people we support go swimming weekly.
A lot of the shifts you will work alongside 1 particular person who has a mobility car which they use to go out and about for different activities.
Shift Pattern and working hours:
Successful applicants will cover early and late shifts, including weekends.
* The early shifts start at 7.15 am
* The late shifts finish at 10 pm
Previous experience is desirable for this position, as it involves 1:1 working, although full training will be provided. You will be expected to work in Portlethen, Stonehaven and Aberdeenshire. Part of your training will include several shadow shifts with an experienced member of staff.
