Job details
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client who is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee minor refit projects in the Salisbury area. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong mechanical engineering background.
The Role:
You will be responsible for managing mechanical projects with values ranging from £1.5m to £5m. These projects involve refits, rather than new construction, and your main focus will be managing subcontractors, supervising works on site, and ensuring successful project delivery. This is a site-based role, requiring your presence on-site 5 days a week, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing refit projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Managing subcontractors (subbies) and supervising on-site activities to ensure efficient and effective progress.
3. Maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders, including the client, to ensure expectations are met.
4. Solving technical issues and providing guidance on mechanical engineering matters.
5. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on site.
6. Regularly reporting on project progress, financials, and any potential risks.
Requirements:
7. Degree-educated in Mechanical Engineering or a former Mechanical Engineer with hands-on project management experience.
8. Proven track record in managing mechanical refit projects, ideally within the commercial or industrial sector.
9. Strong ability to manage subcontractors and supervise site-based works.
10. Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
11. Must be site-based 5 days a week in the Salisbury area.
Package:
12. Base salary: £55,000
13. Car allowance: £5,000 per annum
14. Bonus: 10% of annual salary based on performance
15. Holidays: 23 days + 8 bank holidays
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mechanical engineering background who is ready to take the next step in their project management career. If you're driven, detail-oriented, and ready for a challenging role, this could be the perfect fit for you.
