The Children's Therapies Team is an integrated therapies team providing Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors, and Care Coordinators to children 0 - 19 years within KCHFT.
We currently have 3 Band 6 Speech and Language Therapy posts available on a fixed-term basis for 1 year (start date negotiable) giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work within our Early Years team and/or our School Years team. Full-time and part-time will be considered.
The Early Years sessions are based in one of our community clinics in Canterbury and Thanet where you will be able to work alongside some of our experienced Clinical Specialists. The School Years sessions are within our mainstream school service where you will be working with a team of Speech and Language Therapists and our Specialist Teacher offering a range of universal, targeted, and specialist service delivery options under the Balanced System model.
We currently offer a hybrid work pattern for staff with face-to-face sessions offered from clinics and within the community and also sessions worked remotely from home. We work closely with colleagues from other health, education, and social care teams to provide an integrated team around the child approach.
Main duties of the job
To assess, plan, and implement SLT interventions that support children with a range of speech language and communication needs. To deliver evidence-based SLT interventions for children that support them in achieving their identified health outcomes.
To develop integrated care plans in partnership with the child, young person, and/or family recommending and supporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted, and specialist level.
To participate in clinical supervision and to work as part of an integrated team with Therapy Assistants, OTs, PTs, SLTs, Care Coordinators, and Specialist Nurse Advisors offering support to colleagues as appropriate to knowledge and skills.
To actively work as a member of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide high-quality care to children and young people in line with our care pathways.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Health-related degree in Speech & Language Therapy
* Registered health care professional (HCPC registration)
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in area of practice
* Practical experience in managing complex caseloads
Knowledge & expertise
* Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months
* Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadlines
* Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation
* Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups
