As a clinical research nurse the post holder will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways of critical care patients participating in clinical trials. It will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The role involves using an in depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the local, national and international research regulations. This will require a methodical and structured approach with attention to detail and accuracy. However, part of this role will be in research promotion and engagement, which will require creativity and innovation. We are always exploring ways of inspiring and empowering clinical staff to play an active role in research with the aim of embedding research in to clinical practice. Therefore this role can be really diverse and we are looking for someone who is adaptable. The role is mainly in critical care unit and in Research & Innovation office based and a good level of IT skills is essential.
