Your new company
Are you passionate about social justice and housing? Do you have a background in the Social Housing sector as a Housing Officer? If so, we have an opportunity for you! We are currently supporting Nacro CAS-2 with their temporary recruitment of a Housing Support worker in Bristol.
Your new role
We are seeking a Housing Support Officer to join the CAS-2 team in Bristol on a temp to perm basis. You will be allocated a patch of properties to cover, but you may be asked to cover other local areas depending on business needs. Because of this, you will need to have access to your own vehicle and have business insurance.
Your main duties as a Housing Support Worker will be managing your diary to meet the requirements of the role. You will meet with Service Users, discuss support needs and how we can help them to meet their objectives; complete Support and Safety Plans, work with Community Probation Practitioners and Court Staff to best support our Service Users. You will also need to be able to help our Service Users with applying for HB and paying rent etc.
All of our properties require to meet Decent Homes Standard and to do that you will need a sharp pair of eyes to ensure that our houses are clean, tidy and all repairs are reported and actioned.
Please note that this role is NOT a personal care role. You will be providing housing support to the service users and will monitor repairs and the cleanliness of the property.
Working Hours: 8 hours per day (occasional need to work flexibly to accommodate evening arrivals within 08:00 - 22:00 service operating hours - flexibility goes both ways, with the ability to work from home between visits and manage own diary).
What you'll need to succeed
Due to the nature of this role, candidates with experience within social housing and knowledge regarding benefits/universal credit would benefit in this role.
You will need to be able to demonstrate resilience, emotional intelligence, teamwork and prioritisation skills and have experience dealing with vulnerable people and drug misuse. This role requires a strong level of administration skills and the ability to manage your own casework effectively.
This role requires drivers who have access to their own vehicle with business insurance. You must be highly flexible with your working day and be able to manage your day effectively. No two days are the same, so you must manage your case loads effectively to complete the necessary visits and tasks in your day-to-day.
You will also need to be able to pass an Enhanced Adults DBS Check. If you already have this level of DBS on the update service, please let us know upon registration.
What you'll get in return
As mentioned above, this is a temp to perm opportunity, so this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and start your career with CAS-2! You will also receive weekly pay at a rate of £15.38 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
