Job Description
As a Management Accountant with Dale Farm, you will be a key member of the Group finance team, working to ensure that accurate and timely financial information flows throughout the business.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an exciting opportunity to work for an innovative business in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this role, you must be hands-on, detail-oriented, have strong accounting skills, strong organisational and communication skills, and you must be flexible managing multiple deadlines.
Key responsibilities
1. Timely and accurate production of monthly and weekly management accounts, together with variance analysis, margin analysis and commentary.
2. Input into annual budgeting processes.
3. Year-end statutory accounts preparation and associated audit queries.
4. Reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts including monthly review with Group CFO.
5. Partnering with site management to identify needs and opportunities and working collaboratively to address them.
6. Improvement projects to develop best in class finance delivery and participate in business unit improvement initiatives.
7. Maintain and drive improvement on robust and efficient systems, processes and controls.
8. Ensure the highest standards of quality assurance and integrity are applied in procedures and documentation in use.
9. Carry out any other duties or cover in a fully flexible manner as part of an interdependent team.
Candidate Requirements
1. Fully qualified accountant with any of the internationally recognised professional accounting bodies (ICAI, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA etc).
2. Management accounting experience is preferable, but the role would also suit a newly qualified accountant with the drive to add value to a successful finance team.
3. Excellent financial modelling and data analysis skills; highly proficient in advanced Excel techniques, as well as other typical business productivity tools.
4. Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Microsoft Business Central would be advantageous.
5. A team player with the ability to work collaboratively with the wider finance and operations team.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information and issues in a clear and concise manner with the goal of driving to a decision.
7. Strong commercial and business acumen.
8. Ambitious, self-motivated and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will have the drive and determination to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced business. You will be a self-starter, with a track record of delivering commercial improvements.
